Bill, an executive in a major company, was hired because of his accomplishments and extraordinary gifts. Yet, rather than helping him celebrate his gifts, his employer increasingly assigns him projects far outside his interests and competencies. This creates deep frustration and confusion. Ron, on the other hand, hasn't held a position that fits his gifting for several years. After spending twelve satisfying years with the same company, he has held four different positions in the last six years. He earns less today than he did ten years ago. Understandably, his self-worth and dignity are at a low point. He feels like a failure. These men are not alone. Many men today are groping for a deeper sense of worth and contribution. They long for a calling that can satisfy their deep desire for value and meaning.
