The Secret

Mar 02 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

This week's special message on marriage is ready to view. At your option, you can invite women to this one-that's what we did for the recorded session!....  (link)

The "Secret"

Ephesians 5:21-33

Ninety percent of all people say they will get married-a full 75% of divorced people remarry within four years. That makes marriage about the most popular thing to do in the world-right behind sneaking chocolate and running red lights!

I've been married to Patsy for 39 years and I love her more today than the day we married. I mentioned this to a single female lab tech earlier this week and she wanted to know the "secret." Join us as I share what I told her-and more! Include the woman you love. It's going to be a great day!

Warmly in Christ,

Lord, Why Are You Doing This to Me?

Feb 24 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

This week's message is ready....  (link)

Lord, Why Are You Doing This to Me?

The Story of Moses, Acts 7:20-39, Exodus 2 and 3

How many of us felt called to do something great for God, but ended up with egg on our face? You took a big risk to serve God, and it feels like He didn't have your back. Now you wonder if it was really God at all. You still love Him, but you feel confused, abandoned, discouraged, and alone. You're asking, "Lord, why are you doing this to me?" No man ever felt more like asking that question than Moses.

In this lesson we'll explore what happened to Moses when he tried to do something great for God, how it backfired, the long period he felt abandoned by God, and how God used all that to forge him into a man He could use to do something that really made a difference. So come and be encouraged! It's going to be a great day!

Warmly in Christ,

The Profile of a Humble Man

Feb 13 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

Here's the next story about Jesus we're exploring at the Man in the Mirror Bible.... (link)

The Profile of a Humble Man

Luke 14:1-14

Increasing our maturity in Jesus is why we meet. But today we come to a very stubborn part of that maturing process: our pride and self-interest. In today's verses, a few religious leaders eat dinner with Jesus. After observing their behavior, he calls them to a whole new way of thinking about rank and privilege. He also calls them to look out for those who can't give them anything in return. Is that your norm? Or does it seem out of reach? It may be easier than you think. Join us and learn how.

Come and be encouraged. I promise not to beat you up! ? It's going to be a great day!

How Jesus Treats His Friends, and Why

Jan 27 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

The next segment in our Hanging Out With Jesus series is now available ( link)

How Jesus Treats His Friends, and Why

John 11:1-44

The reformer, St. Teresa of Avila, once complained to Jesus about the hostility and gossip that surrounded her. Jesus responded, "Teresa, that's how I treat my friends."

Teresa said, "Then no wonder you have so few friends."

Many odd things happen when we start hanging out with Jesus. Sure, we know him so much better. We realize we are the objects of his affection and sacrifice. We also start to see that we are pawns on his chessboard-instruments of his glory. And we also see that he doesn't do "all" the work of restoration-he leaves a lot of it up to us. To be his friend is to be his servant.

Join us for a humbling glimpse of his deep love for us, and an inspiring vision for how you fit into his larger plans to restore the world to its former glory. It's going to be a great day!

Scarcity and Abundance

Oct 21 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

This week's message and discussion questions are ready to view ( link )

 Scarcity and Abundance

John 10:1-10

Why do some people lead rich, satisfying lives-not trouble free, but full of love and joy-while others have been robbed of their joy. In the all-time favorite and classic text about this topic, Jesus chose a parable from the life of animals to help us see the kind of life we will have when we listen to his voice. Come and be encouraged!

It's going to be a great day!

Why the Blind Man Could See What the Others Could Not See

Oct 14 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

This week's message and discussion questions are ready to view ( link )

Why the Blind Man Could See What the Others Could Not See

John 9:35-41

Do you sometimes feel like there must be some "secret knowledge" out there that you're missing - something that is holding you back? In this lesson you'll learn that's not the case at all. In fact, you'll learn just how simple and easy the Christian life is, but there is a caveat. Come learn what that is, and find out why you don't need a blinding amount of knowledge.

It's going to be a great day!

When You Suffer For No Apparent Reason

Oct 07 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

This week's message and discussion questions are ready to view ( link )

When You Suffer For No Apparent Reason

John 9:1-34

Sometimes we suffer for doing wrong, sometimes for doing right, and sometimes for no apparent reason. In this lesson we're going to explore the story of a man born blind, the confusion that swirled around why he was blind, and the bedlam that erupted when Jesus healed him. The goal of this message is to help you make sense of sad things, and to know how the gospel of Jesus would have you respond when you see someone suffering-including yourself.

It's going to be a great day!

Sep 30 Posted by MIM Web Team in Man in the Mirror Blog 0

This week's message and discussion questions are ready to view ( link )

What's Crippling You?

Luke 13:10-17

People are crippled in lots of different ways -- physically, emotionally, mentally, financially, morally, spiritually, and the list goes on. In this lesson we're going to look at the story of two cripples-one obvious physical cripple and one not-so-obvious spiritual cripple. Which would you rather be? Join us and learn how Jesus can set you free from whatever crippling disease has hold of you.

It's going to be a great day!

The Purpose of Disasters

Sep 23 Posted by MIM Web Team in The Field Network 0

The Purpose of Disasters

Luke 13:1-9

The Big Idea: Whether God causes disasters will always be debated, but how God wants us to respond is not debatable.

Disasters raise lots of questions. It’s pretty easy to “theologize” about disasters in principle. But it’s a whole different ballgame when it’s a “right now” tragedy—or ten years after something as horrific as the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Some things about disasters will always be debatable, but in this lesson Jesus will tell us what’s not debatable. Come get your questions about disasters answered.
