The best principles for leadership and management-whether business, military, government, education, or religion-come from the Bible. Here are four thoughts which derive from God's word using Paul's "serving as a soldier" metaphor in 2 Timothy 2:4. Reliable Men First, if you want to win a war, you will not stand on a street corner handing our rifles to everyone who passes by. Instead, you will identify and recruit those capable of service. They will have to pass a test. Not everyone will get in. Paul put it like this: "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others" (2 Timothy 2:2).
