The story is told about a wealthy businessman who loved to collect art. He and his son had collected together and enjoyed some very important works – Picasso, Rafael, Van Gogh, and Rembrandt. The son was drafted and sent to Vietnam where he was killed while saving a fellow soldier. A few months later, after some deep grieving by the father, a knock came on the door, and it was a young man with a package in his hand. He said, “Sir, you don’t know me, but I’m the soldier that your son carried on his back. He saved my life when he took a bullet right through his heart, and he saved many other men that day, as well. I’m not much of an artist, but I painted this portrait of your son, and I would like to present it to you.” The full article is available FREE to registered users.
